The « Chateau de Chantilly » is one of the finest jewels in the crown of France’s cultural heritage.
Shaped by history, the « Chateau » as you see it today is the work of Henri d’Orléans, Duke of Aumale, son of Queen Marie-Amélie and King Louis-Philippe, the last King of France.
Considered to be the greatest collector of his time, the Duke of Aumale made Chantilly the showcase for his countless masterpieces and precious manuscripts.
Musée de Condé : The Condé Museum in the « Château » has one of the oldest collections of Old Master painting in France and it’s collection of paintings is only surpassed in France by the Musée du Louvre.
« Le Domaine de Chantilly » : The large French-style flowerbed in Chantilly provides the most stunning viewpoints of the domain. It includes immense mirrors of water reflecting the sky, numerous fountains and water features, and an exceptional collection of statues. Of all the gardens created by André Le Nôtre, the gardener of Versailles, those of Chantilly is undeniably the one with the largest and a rare example of a layout.
The largest stables in Europe : Chantilly is the largest center of horse training activity in France. A masterpiece of 18th century architecture, the Great Stables The Grandes Écuries, which contain the Living Museum of the Horse, are among the most-visited horse-racing sites and are considered the most beautiful in the world.
Capital of the horse is a benchmark for European training centers, with almost 3,000 racehorses on site every day.

A tradition since the 17th century, the lace manufacture was established at the Chateau de Chantilly by the Duchesse de Longueville. A special favorite of Louis XV's last mistress, Madame du Barry and of Marie Antoinette, Chantilly lace found its apogee under the second empire under the influence of Empress Eugenie.
